The
popular districts back lot at EMPC has a special flavor due to its unique
characteristics. It is one of the most important filming areas that EMPC is so keen
to develop and modernize, to accommodate all scenarios and various dramatic
topics. EMPC has established this back lot to depict the daily popular Egyptian
lifestyle in a unique and authentic way.
In
order to achieve this, new areas were designed and added to the popular districts
back lot. They are characterized by the mixing between old and modern popular districts
in a way that shows the true lifestyle of these districts in detail. They show
the minutest details of the old popular districts, with their houses, alleys
and old-fashion commercial shops, in addition to the modern popular district,
which reflects the drastic change in the quality of life and the architectural style
of shops and popular houses. A semi-real mock-up for “Al-Gamaleya” district was
designed including all the true-to-life components of this famous district in
Old Cairo.
